New friend needed for the Good Companions

It’s a landmark building in a landmark position in a 1.2 acre site on the North Downs, with fantastic views across London, a rapid commute into the city and potential to become anything from a branded pub/restaurant to retirement housing, a care home or mixed commercial/residential development. So it’s no wonder that the Good Companions in Warlingham is already attracting a lot of interest.

The two storey, 1930s main building has single storey extensions to either side, parking for 50 cars in front and an extensive, lawned rear garden. It is being marketed by licensed leisure specialists AG&G, who are expecting substantial offers for the freehold on an unconditional basis by noon on Friday 25 May.

“To make it even more attractive, the vendor is prepared to be flexible and will consider conditional offers that are subject to planning permission. There is also the possibility of a new lease, free of all brewery ties,” says AG&G’s James Grimes.

“The site is surrounded by good quality housing in a desirable location and you can be in central London in 30 minutes, so there’s bags of potential for a range of buyers and uses.”
