Windsor Castle looks for new king (or queen) of the realm

Hounslow’s Windsor Castle pub describes itself as offering “fun and entertainment seven nights a week, ranging from karaoke and quiz nights to live cabaret … theme parties and top-name entertainment” but given its 1,123 square metre site, it could sell as a prime development opportunity through licensed leisure specialists AG&G.

There’s been a pub at the location since the 1860s but the current building is mid-20th century, with three floors and a basement. The ground floor has a late-night bar (licensing to 2am on Friday and Saturdays and 1am other days) with DJ booth, dance floor and trade kitchen. Below is a beer store and boiler room. Above, on two floors, are five double bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom.

“At an asking price of over £850,000+VAT for the freehold and given its location, it has obvious potential for conversion, subject to consents, of course,” says AG&G’s James Grimes.

“It’s a five minute walk to Hounslow Central or Hounslow West Tube stations, putting it into commuter territory and in striking distance of Heathrow airport. And it’s on a main road linking the town centre with the A4 that has some good commercial premises.

“The building footprint is 345 square metres but the site area is more than three times that and includes a car park for ten vehicles, which would be useful for any future owner.”
