Professional advice leads to 0% uplifts

The outcome of rent reviews is based on the quality of information about a licensed premises (comparables) and the quality of the arguments used to justify one figure or another.

In recent reviews of three properties leased by Greene King, AG&G, their representative, successfully argued for no increase at all.

The three premises are:

  • The Trout, a modern pub with outdoor seating, live music and full disabled access at Hammersmith’s Broadway shopping centre in London

  • Copa, a well-regarded gastro-pub with terrace near Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium

  • Goblets, a popular wine and real ale operation near Southampton Solent University

AG&G director Anthony Alder, who conducted the negotiations for Greene King, says, “Every rent review is different and involves choosing the right statistics and logic for an individual property to justify your point of view. It pays to use a professional with years of experience in the licensed leisure industry, as the results for these three properties demonstrate.”
