The Morrison seeks shelter of new ownership

Back in 1900, the reference work Fulham Old and New described the then Lord Palmerston pub as a “modern house dating from around 1862.” Since then renamed The Morrison, the venue has retained its reputation of keeping up with the times. It is now a sports and gastro pub and the freehold is for sale at £1.65 million plus VAT through licensed leisure specialists AG&G.

Hammersmith & Fulham Council describes The Morrison as a “prominent feature” of its location at the junction of King’s Road, Britannia Road, Waterford Road and New King’s Road.

On the first floor, the manager’s flat has a double bedroom, living room with kitchen area and bathroom. There are three further bedrooms, an office, storage and another bathroom. The basement holds the beer cellar and further storage.

“It’s in a brilliant position and has a loyal following of football fans – Chelsea’s stadium is nearby. Rugby fans like it too. Less sporty types are attracted by the food and the current manager’s monthly film shows,” says AG&G’s Michael Penfold.

“It’s on a big site for the locality, at 335 square metres (3,611 square feet) and there could be room in the beer garden for residential development (subject to statutory consents). The building itself could also be converted into a restaurant or retail outlet.”
