Colin Wellstead

Colin, one of the most highly-respected figures in licensed leisure, is non-executive chairman of AG&G.

He has more than 40 years’ experience in the industry and was director of the pub and restaurant operations of a major international agency for 20 years, specialising in corporate activities. In this capacity, Colin was regularly voted one of the 50 most influential people in the licensed trade. He was involved in most of the deal-making that changed the face of the corporate pub market. For example, Colin led the team advising Punch in its acquisitions of Pubmaster and its 3,100 pubs for £1.2 billion and Spirit and its 1,800 pubs for £2.86 billion.

He has also worked at Bass and Whitbread.

Colin joined AG&G to pass on his knowledge and insights to the next generation of leaders in licensed leisure. As one of the elder statesmen of the industry, he provides advice and guidance as AG&G grows into the next phase of its development.
